Utah Valley University’s President’s Scholarship Ball will be presented in celebration of the institution’s 70th anniversary on Friday, Oct. 14, at the UCCU Center on UVU’s Orem Campus.

Nu Skin Enterprises is the title sponsor of the 2011 President’s Scholarship Ball. Steve Lund, vice chairman of Nu Skin, served as the past chairman of UVU’s Board of Trustees.

“The President’s Scholarship Ball is one of the most important events of the year in terms of promoting student success and academic excellence at the University,” said UVU President Matthew S. Holland. “It is an honor and a privilege to have Nu Skin Enterprises, a close community partner, as this year’s title sponsor. Nu Skin has a long track record of commitment to supporting education in the Valley, and in particular, to this institution.”

Utah County’s premier gala, the event is the primary means of support for the University’s Presidential Scholarships that last year provided over $100,000 in prestigious scholarships to 48 students. Last year’s scholarship recipients can be viewed at .

“We are thrilled to be part of the Scholarship Ball this year,” said Lund. “The scholarships generated through this event are critical to many of these students as they continue their education, and Nu Skin applauds the efforts of Utah Valley University in placing student success first and foremost in its mission.”

Other major sponsors of the event include Fidelity Investments, Utah Community Credit Union and Novell.
