Attention retro enthusiasts. The Ventura College athletic department will sell old uniforms and practice gear from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. today on the patio adjacent to the VC Sportsplex.

Items from nearly every VC program are available from 1980s to present, including basketball uniforms and warmups going back to the Phil Mathews era, football uniforms going back to the Phil Passno era and baseball uniforms going back to the Gary Anglin era.

“We’ve never been given this chance before,” said Ventura equipment manager Peder Nielsen. “There’s some really nice stuff… It’s all been in storage.”

The garage sale will continue into the football scrimmage this evening.

The speakers, wives of current and former consuls general and ambassadors to the United States, will explore the challenges, choices and opportunities they face in juggling home, family, careers and diplomatic life.

Susan Madsen, an associate professor of management with UVU’s Woodbury School of Business and a noted international women’s leadership studies scholar, will join Tcholpon Akmatalieva, wife of former Kyrgyz Ambassador Baktybek Abdrisaev and a university professor, to moderate the symposium.
